Through e-learning and workplace experience, I've developed the fundamentals of security
awareness –
a fundamental skill across numerous industries.
This includes holding certificates in Action Counters Terrorism Awareness.
Everyone has a part to play in keeping their workplace safe.
I recently completed the ACT
Awareness e-learning course, highlighting this. Identifying and responding
to hazards, such as unattended items, helps to keep
everyone safe, and this course helped to build confidence in doing so.
Through the ACT Education Certificate I developed specific awareness relevant to the education sector. This includes relevant differences in the HOT (Hidden, Obviously Suspicious, Typical Item) protocol for assessing unattended belongings, as well as procedures for invacuation and lockdowns.
This
short course, which I completed during an IT work placement, highlights the principles of
data
protection and fundamental cybersecurity procedures such as reporting and identifying
threats.
I've applied this training, reporting a data breach to the data protection officer within
a previous organisation.
